The strength of women has always been highlighted in many aspects of life, in as much as there have been signs of intolerance for women in society, it has been evident from time immemorial that women are of very strong character. Going by the Bible, Eve’s managing to convince Adam to have some of the forbidden fruit is a manifestation of strength that women possess, If women are the weaker sex how then did one woman manage to change a whole plan of how the world was supposed to be .
How did societal roles come to be, how did it come about that women should be considered the weaker sex. Let’s take a looking at this issue from the church’s point of view one realises that in this day and age most women have been stripped of their powers we read in most books of Greek Gods and Goddesses, now we rarely see that balance of power. When you look at the roles of Nuns and Priests who to a certain degree, have to live celibate for the rest of their lives and have to make many other sacrifices in their lives. The nuns who equally sacrifice and spend the rest of their lives in the convent for no matter how long will always remain unfit to stand on the altar.
Women have been known to be very tolerant to many forms of hardship and even abuse but at the same time they are strong. Women seldom exhibit their physical strength and will most times refrain and instead watch as they get abused. This is brought about by the embededness of their societal roles, how they are taught to perceive life. Even in marriage life many men know they would be challenged successfully by their wives and even if this happens none of these men will report this to anyone.
We hear of wife battering but we havent heard of husband battering yet this is a reality and no man would be willing report to either the police or friends or family that they were beaten by their wives, this is because men have to always have the upper hand and nobody has to know they are challenged by their wives.
Women are always ready to stand by men for most of their lives no matter what they have to go through, atleast in recent years some women have known better than to tolerate most men’s intolerable habits. Most men wont admit that women have a strength about them, a force so strong they cant resist and yet they continue to talk about changing the world how possible will that be if women are sidelined.
Women have the experience, they see a lot more than they people realise and they even make great leaders they are mothers who carry pregnancies for nine months not knowing what they are carrying but still loving it all the same, infact, women give birth to men.
Society has to look at the issues of how women are perceived that will turn around a lot of even just what is going on around the world. Women deserve a lot of respect and men that abuse and disrespect women are a hazard to not only society but to themselves. Women should not be undermined in any way because they were just like men created by God and breathe the same air that men do so I don’t see any superior or inferior sex all I see is a gap when we start classifying sexes because that then leads to an imbalance.
